Mini Bio

Jasper Kaen Satō was born in Kyoto, Japan. But he was adopted when he was an infant by a wealthy Japanese couple who had emigrated to Sydney, Australia. His family hails from Japan, but both his parents moved to Sydney when they were younger to study medicine at the University of Sydney. The fact Jasper isn't biologically theirs was never an issue. He knows he was adopted, but his parents are as much his parents as if they gave birth to him. They wanted a second child after his older sister, but when fertility issues struck, they decided to adopt their second child from their home country.

Jasper was adopted into a family that comes from a long line of medical professionals, and his parents always hoped he would follow in their footsteps. It wasn't unusual for traditional Asian families to expect the best out of their children, but Jasper, with a distinct aversion to blood, could never see himself as a doctor. His older, and only sister, Cindy, was destined for it and went to the same university as their parents to become a cardiothoracic surgeon, but as Jasper got older, he became more and more worried he would be a disappointment to the family after they gave him the most amazing start in life. Instead, he was more interested in performing and wanted to become a stage actor. He loved singing and dancing, but his parents always just thought it was a hobby for him and not to be really taken seriously. They weren't strict, but they did honour the traditions of their culture and families. With money no object and the family substantially wealthy, it seemed inevitable that Jasper should go to medical school too.

It made him feel more than guilty when he went along to audition for a talent show along the lines of the X-Factor, singing Let Me Entertain You by Robbie Williams. He confided in Cindy that he was going to do it, and she came along to support him. He never thought he would get in, not by a long shot, but he did and then he had to come clean to his parents knowing the audition would be on the TV and the cat would soon be out of the bag. Initially, it didn't go down well. Jasper had already deferred going to university for two years to perform with the Sydney Theatre Company, and at the time, he had guiltily promised them he would go to university once he was done... but he truly wanted to go to NIDA, the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney, and not learning about the body at med school. The only interest he really had in bodies was perving and sex, something he really couldn't deny but couldn't tell his parents.

He came clean, though, once he got selected along with four other guys to unite as a boy band in the competition (Axel Beckett, Chase Walker, Leighton Kent, and Lance Valentine), called Electricks. They were an instant hit and Jasper felt like he was in his element. He knew this was what he was made to do, and even though his parents were shocked and disappointed initially (they had taken his word when he promised to attend med school eventually), they surprised him and supported him, more than proud of what he had achieved. It was a huge relief for Jasper, and it gave him the opening to sink his whole heart and soul in chasing his dreams. He hit it off with the other guys and they formed a brotherly-type bond, which was lucky considering ho much time they had to spend together once they recorded their first album and scored their first number one single in Australia which soared to the top of the charts the week it was released.

They were even hand-picked by high-flying American popstar, Angel Shaw to support him on his international tour, and when they become well-known all around the world because of that, they were signed with a new management and PR team in New York City and uprooted to the Big Apple to kick off their own international career. Jasper is both excited and terrified, but he's glad he has the guys to share it with. He's a laid back guy with a cheeky sense of humour, but is definitely the peace-keeper of the bunch when the personalities sometimes clash.
